Grand Strand Citizens for Life (GSCL) was founded in 1984 and incorporated in 1985 as a non-profit citizens group formed to promote a public recognition of the dignity and right to life of every individual from the time of conception to natural death.
In order to foster a respect for human rights as a matter of social justice, GSCL’s membership, led by its Board of Directors, encourages an appreciation of family as a fundamental institution of society. We seek to educate the public on the problems
of abortion, child abuse, human (fetal) experimentation, human cloning, infanticide, euthanasia, assisted suicide & related subjects.
Through letters, publications, advertising & other materials, respect life information is distributed to our members & to the public. Individual members carry the pro-life message to interested individuals and groups.
In addition to our educational focus we also partner with the local agencies that provide crisis pregnancy counseling and support. Most of this interaction provides aid to Bethany Christian Services & Catholic Charities,
Birthright of Georgetown and Coastline Women’s Center. All services are offered without regard to race, religion, legal residency, marital or economic status.
Grand Strand Citizens for Life is committed to work peacefully for an end to abortions & a genuine respect for all human life. In conjunction with South Carolina Citizens for Life, we support the annual January Life Rally in Columbia, South Carolina by providing transportation to & from the Rally.
Our annual Pro-life Interfaith Prayer Vigil is also held in January of each year to memorialize the millions of unborn children killed since the U.S. Supreme Court’s Roe Vs Wade decision which has resulted in some 57,000,000 (57 million) abortions on demand in this country. The annual Prayer Vigil
is held each year at a different participating church along the Grand Strand & features prayers offered from ministers of many different denominations.
Grand Strand Citizens for Life seeks & appreciates support from residents of the Grand Strand in its pro-life endeavor. Our Board of Directors & its’ officers are all volunteers & are a working Board. No salaries are paid - a 100% volunteer effort.
GSCL's primary goal is to alter society's "Culture of Death" to a "Culture of Life" so that the unborn and newborn, their parents, the elderly and the defenseless will benefit from a true respect for the dignity and value of life.
